Our facilities and learning resources
We invest heavily in our facilities and learning resources, ensuring that our staff and students have access to everything they need to help them succeed in their work and study. If you need assistance during your studies, it helps to know that the University of Aruba (UA) offers a wide range of support services to assist you with any problems you may face, including those of an academic or personal nature.
Student facilities
Academic guidance and support
Student monitoring, pro-active guidance, academic coaching, and mentoring all play an essential role in ensuring that the student’s well-being and academic performance are optimized and maximized.
Every faculty organizes its own academic guidance and support to monitor student progress and guide them on their academic journey. Faculties will appoint a student mentor, a student counselor, or an academic advisor to support students during the study program.
Shoco Wellness
UA’s mission is to help students succeed and flourish in their pursuit of higher education. A baseline study of student mental health conducted in December 2018 revealed that a majority of the respondents have experienced stress and often felt overwhelmed.
Shoco Wellness is the embodiment of UA’s commitment to supporting the mental health and overall well-being of its students so that they can academically succeed. Shoco Wellness offers a range of tools for students who are struggling such as; early interventions that focus on maintaining good mental health and overcoming life’s challenges, skills training workshops, and individual/group counseling. The University of Aruba doesn’t just focus on academic excellence, they help their students excel in every facet of life.

Reception
The University’s reception office is located at the Main Campus and is open every day from 8:00 AM to 12:00 PM and from 01:00 PM to 4:00 PM.
There is access to (mobile) printing, copying, and scanning in the Computer Center and in the Library. Print credit for copying and printing can be bought at the Reception.

Library
The Library of the University of Aruba (UA) is a small, cozy space conveniently located on the ground floor of the main campus (La Salle building) of the university. As part of the University of Aruba, we provide information services to students, teachers, staff, alumni, professionals, and the community of Aruba.
The general public has access to books, journals, and other library material. However, borrowing publications are limited to holders of a valid student ID card or membership card and are subject to the library’s lending conditions. The library may also be of assistance to enter online databases, like SAGE online journals, JSTOR, Emerald Premium, and EBSCO.
Café
On the Main Campus, there is a Café run by a local business named Cafe Tostaoo. Cafe Tostaoo is a cozy cafe where you can find daily menus for all tastes. Cafe Tostaoo has a different menu every day including vegetarian and vegan dishes. They offer a higher food quality for an affordable value.

Information and Communication Technology (ICT)
Computer Center
The Computer Center, located on the second floor of the La Salle building, the main campus of the university, has a dual purpose; it is not only a computer lab but also a classroom for courses where computer access is an integral part of the course or class. Computers are also available in the library.
Printing and Copying
There is access to (mobile) printing, copying, and scanning in the Computer Center and in the Library.
To copy and print you need the following:
- Username
- PIN code: available at the Reception or Computer Center
- Print credit: available at the Reception
Study program digital resources
All important information about the university’s study programs can be found in the Faculty Study Guide and supporting documents such as the study program’s Year Calendar, Course Schedules, and Literature List. These documents provide helpful details about the University, the study program, and other essential information for every stage of the student journey, from registration to assessment to graduation.

Library Databases
The UA library may be of assistance in providing students access to digital databases to quickly find relevant scholarly information they can use in research papers or other course projects. The Databases available via the UA Library grant students access to legal articles, books, and journals, such as the Boom Juridisch Tijdschriften, Navigator Kluwer, and JSTOR Digital Library.

The Study Online Environment of the University of Aruba is called StOne. Students can access StOnE via stone.ua.aw with their username and password. This information is made available after final registration.
With StOnE students can:
- Easily access course content – browse the content of courses, even when offline.
- Connect with course participants – quickly find and contact other people in courses.
- Keep up to date – receive instant notifications of messages and other events, such as assignment submissions.
- Submit assignments – Upload images, audio, videos, and other files from a mobile device.
- Track their progress – View grades, check completion progress in courses, and browse learning plans.
- Course material and assignments are made available by the lecturer of the course via StOnE. Other important announcements are also sent via StOnE or distributed via the student’s UA email address.

OSIRIS
OSIRIS is a Student Progress Tracking System, in which all information regarding a student’s studies and study progress is stored from the moment of first registration up to and including graduation. All UA students have an OSIRIS account as soon as they are fully enrolled and are admitted to the UA.
We recommend downloading the OSIRIS app on your phone so that you can stay up to date with your grades, your schedule and can have easy access to registration for courses and exams.
To gain access to OSIRIS you need a username and password. This information will be made known to you at the start of your studies. Your username for OSIRIS is your student number, your password is your UA network password (the same password you use in the Computer Lab or Library). If you encounter problems logging in, you may have to reset your password. During office hours you can do this at the Reception of the main campus at UA. For further assistance regarding technical problems you can contact the Computer Center at cc@ua.aw or at telephone (297) 526-2252, or (297) 526-2253.
You can log in here or via the OSIRIS Mobile App (available via the Google Play Store or Apple Store). For more information regarding your grades, course schedules, missing information, or other education-related issues to be found in OSIRIS, please contact the Office of Educational Affairs (OEA), in charge of the educational administration of students, at oea@ua.aw.
G Suite
G Suite is a set of cloud computing, productivity, and collaboration tools, software, and products developed by Google. Every registered student will obtain access to their own G Suite account and can make use of its email (Gmail), cloud storage (Google Drive with a capacity of 30 GB), and other tools, such as Google Docs. This eliminates the need to use external storage devices such as USB sticks during your studies, minimizing the risks of viruses and losing your data. G Suite also allows you to access your information from any computer, eliminating the need to sync your data on different computers. The data on G Suite is available from your smartphone, tablet, laptop, or computer.
Your student email will be attached to your G Suite account. Important announcements are distributed via your student email. You are expected to consult your email regularly to stay up to date with student affairs and notifications.

Lifelong Learning
One of the key issues in the strategic development of the University of Aruba (UA) is the need to orient its service more explicitly towards the development of the Aruban society.
The Center for Lifelong Learning (CLL) extends the mission and vision of the University of Aruba by providing continuous education for holistic human development and personal growth, utilizing a combination of various instruments, such as lectures, post-academic courses, tailored made in-company training, seminars and symposia, workshops, and more.
CLL has as the motto “Enabling Growth”. This growth is achieved by means of providing continuing education for holistic human development and personal growth.

The Office of Student Affairs
The Office of Student Affairs (OSA) is responsible for student administration and recruitment of new students. The OSA is also committed to fostering an integrated learning experience that will help students reach their educational, personal, and professional aspirations, by organizing student activities and supporting extracurricular activities, such as student organizations, peer-to-peer education, and alumni activities.

Coordination, management, and support of (European) mobility programs and the realization of the university’s over-all internationalization strategy are concentrated at the institutional level in the Office of International Affairs (OIA).

The Office of Educational Affairs (OEA) oversees the education administration of all faculties in the University of Aruba (UA). OEA uses OSIRIS (a Student Progress Tracking System) to support its administration processes, such as registration for courses and exams and grade administration. For more information regarding your grades, course schedules, missing information, or other education-related issues to be found in OSIRIS, please contact the Office of Educational Affairs (OEA).

The Center for Quality Assurance (CQA) is responsible for providing support, coordination, and administration of activities and initiatives connected to quality assurance, improvement, and accreditation of the study programs offered at the University of Aruba. At the end of every semester, all students are requested to fill in an anonymous online survey to evaluate their courses and lecturers, thus providing valuable feedback and playing a key role in improving the quality of UA programs.

The Office of Financial Affairs handles all of Aruba University’s financial transactions, including student registration information, tuition fees, administrative, exam, and any miscellaneous fees. They also provide students assistance with Financial Aid.

The Information and Technology department (IT) provides and maintains a wide range of educational tools and systems for the students at the University of Aruba and their professors.
The IT department is also in charge of the Computer Center. If you need any technical assistance in the Computer Center or encounter problems with logging into the UA network on campus, you can contact the Computer Center at cc@ua.aw.
Human Resources and Development
The Human Resources and Development department (HR&D) is part of the offices and centers that assist the management of the University of Aruba and the faculties in executing their core activities in education, research, and community services. This assistance consists of everything pertaining to human resources and development.

Facilities Management Department
The University of Aruba Facilities Management Department (FMD) efficiently operates, maintains, and supports the development of quality facilities, grounds, and services, to support our campus community, students, faculty, and staff.
At the FMD students can also purchase UA merchandise and apparel to support them during their studies, such as tote bags, USB flash drives, and re-usable tumbler cups. Note: 100% of the profit goes to our Student Development Fund.
