Who is Shopa.Stream? 

“Shopa” is a Papiamento word for the habitat of our national animal/symbol, the “Shoco”. Shopa.Stream is the first Online College Radio that represents the house of our students at the University of Aruba. We go live with the youngest radio hosts from the UA to provide the top-quality radio shows with the best music, college lifestyle topics, and insightful UA information.

Mission and Vision

The mission and vision of Shopa.Stream are to enhance the student’s entrepreneurial skill sets with hands-on experience. Shopa.Stream is more than an Online College Radio, it’s a platform/opportunity for the (Aruban) community to have a voice for their idea, business, talent and many more because at Shopa.Stream is “Where Underground is Sunrise ”.

Djurwin Brito:

Djurwin Brito A.K.A Balance Gab is a student at the UA studying Marketing & Business in the Faculty for Accounting, Finance and Marketing. Besides being a student at the UA he is also DJ/Producer and Founder of Shopa.Stream. He’s been a DJ for more than 10+ years and has reached multiple streaming platforms with his music productions and been playlisted on top playlists on Spotify and Apple Music.

Less Jukeboxes More Real Deejays

Balance Gab’s hosts a live show “Less Jukeboxes More Real Deejays” on Shopa.Stream and provides a platform for DJ’s to expose their DJ Skills, talent and history. Shami Erasmus: 

Shamirée Erasmus is her real name, but by many she is known as Shami. She is an Accounting and Finance student in the Faculty of Accounting, Finance and Marketing. In a day of her life, she is kind of an all around person. She likes doing Crossfit, She loves reading books, and is now  Radio Show Host for Shopa.Stream.

She thinks it is really important to be outside of your comfort zone and that is the main reason why she decided to jump on board and start a collaboration on the first online college radio with her colleague Djurwin Brito. 

It is never scary to do new things for your own personal experience and development. It will only be a learning opportunity as soon as you start. That’s why she named her show differently “Aspira pa Inspira”.

“Aspira pa Inspira” is a show where Shami focuses on being diverse. Independently bold, she grows by having an open mind and enhancing her intelligence by helping others and leading others on their way to success. This show focuses on supporting (new) upbringings to become the next Era in the world. Most importantly the show emphasizes on providing, not only the UA community but our local and international community, college lifestyle (trending) topics, insightful UA information altogether with potential interviewees and positive vibes with a variety of music.
