Global Migration Film Screening

The Global Migration Film Fest on Aruba is annually organised by IOM. This year the UA is, in collaboration with IOM, hosting the event. During the event a documentary will be screened that showcases the challenges of migration, and the contributions that migrants bring to their new communities.

Synopsis:
Yulimar seeks to become independent. Jesús, a rapper, looks for the best opportunities to further his rapping career. Valeria seeks to get out of a complicated relationship, to move forward and be able to bring her daughters from Venezuela. Stories that are interwoven and where these characters will somehow find a way to continue their journey.

This documentary is the outcome of the community cinema workshops of the Nómada Cine Comunitario project, involving more than 60 young people from Venezuela, Ecuador and Colombia who made a film about three stories- each one represented by one of the colors of the title- and linked under the same theme: the migration
