Description

Aruba Conservation Foundation in collaboration with its local partners ScubbleBubbles Foundation and the University of Aruba are organizing an information night for the community of Aruba to learn more about what is being done to restore Aruba’s marine environment.

Ever since March 2023, the 3 local organizations together with international partner Wageningen University & Research (WUR) have been working together on coral and mangrove restoration on the island as part of a project that is funded by the EU’s RESEMBID program. Following 2 successful information session, the team is once again organizing an information night where the community of Aruba can hear more on the MARRS Reef Stars and MOSES artificial reefs that have been placed in Aruba’s Marine Protected Area and the coral growth that is on-going following a very exciting coral fragment transplantation that took place in February of this year. This evening is also another chance for the community to hear more about the challenges faced with mangrove conservation in protected nature area and what the team in Aruba will be doing to restore these in the coming months.
