About our library
The Library of the University of Aruba (UA) is a small, cozy space conveniently located on the ground floor of the main (La Salle) building of the university. As part of the University of Aruba, we provide information services to students, teachers, staff, alumni, professionals, and the community of Aruba.
Access and membership
The library is open to all for consultation of materials. To borrow books or to gain access to databases however you will need to show a student ID or membership card.
Our members have access to our ever-evolving collection of books on campus and also access to digital databases of articles, books, and journals/magazines. Membership is AWG. 115,- yearly.

Our collection
Use the catalog Aruba.worldcat.org (or the search bar below) to search our collection. Search at your own pace and time, the catalog is available 24/7. We invite you to discover, find availability, login, reserve, extend your loan or even download materials.
Databases
The Library offers a wide collection of multidisciplinary databases. Students can access these databases through the Online Learning Platform Stone. Log in with your SSO credentials to Stone and access one of the following databases.
All Journals from Boom Juridische Uitgevers are available (in Dutch only). Including Caribisch Juristenblad.
*Law Journals provided by BJU are only in Dutch.
Multidisciplinary Social Science Databases and access to more than 100.000 Ebooks.

Journals of publisher Emerald. The journal collection includes titles from a vast range of subject areas from management and finance to criminology and social media.

Journals of publisher Sage. Sage is publishing more than 1,000 journals, from a wide range of disciplines.

All Journals from Paris Uitgevers (mostly in Dutch), like for example the journal of Trafficking and Human Exploitation (JTHE).
Go to Uitgeverij ParisArs Aequi is a legal magazine and online platform for lawyers (in Dutch only). The topics in Ars Aequi monthly magazine provide a broad cross-section of the law. Current events and complex doctrines are discussed.

There is the possibility of requesting journal articles and other resources not held by the UA Library. It is there to support staff, students, and members engaged in research and teaching. The Library also invites you to suggest items to purchase. To make a recommendation for purchase, please email us at library@ua.aw.
Library study room
There is a separate study room in the Library. Here students and members can log into computers. You will need your own UA username and password for this.
The Study Room remains open till 11 PM. It is only accessible for students who made a reservation in our Topdesk app.
Other services
The University Library offers a self-service printer, copier, and scanner machine. This machine uses credit (and pin code) that can be purchased at the La Salle building receptionist or the Facility department. Scanning is freely sent to your email. E-mail your print job to the machine by emailing your attachment to mobile@ua.aw.
Bookstore
The University of Aruba’s bookstore is located in the library. The Bookstore seeks to facilitate the purchase of textbooks for the students of the University of Aruba. Importing the books from the Netherlands and the United States, right to the University’s Bookstore.
Bookstore inventory
The UA Bookstore offers an inventory of textbooks for the different Faculties at the University of Aruba. If a book title is not available, it can be ordered upon request.

Bookstore warranty
On all books is a warranty. If the edition or title is not correct compared to the literature list, an exchange or refund can be made.
Buy and sell your second hand books
The bookstore provides students with the opportunity of buying and selling textbooks. The Bookstore sells new and used versions of the books. So books that have been bought at the beginning of the academic year, can be offered for sale in June. The bookstore doesn’t buy the books back but is a facilitator in the sale by offering the used books to our regular buyers.

Our philosophy is that all students and members of the UA Library have the right to the same services and facilities as they would enjoy at any other academic institution in the world. Because we are a small university and library we are also able to provide you with personal attention.
